Sinopse / Synopsis
O tema da oficina é ajudar a explorar e ensinar aos participantes as possibilidades da marioneta como um forte meio teatral. Além disso, haverá uma forte ênfase no papel do marionetista como um ator que interpreta. O marionetista não desaparece atrás das marionetas. Sua presença no palco é parte integrante da performance.
Os participantes irão trabalhar com uma marioneta e trazê-la à "vida". Cenas serão então desenvolvidas com a marioneta para criar pequenos estudos e situações dramáticas. Os participantes não apenas interagirão com a marioneta, mas também com os outros participantes na criação das cenas. A entrada dos participantes desempenha um grande papel.
A oficina começará com os alunos trabalhando alternadamente com uma marioneta sem texto. Atenção será dada a:
- como as manipulações da marioneta afetam o público.
- como os papéis da marioneta e do marionetista são intercambiáveis (quem serve quem?)
- diferenças entre a "linguagem corporal" da marioneta e a do marionetista
Estudantes individuais, bem como pequenos grupos, irão praticar isso na frente dos outros participantes. Atenção especial pode ser dada a:
- possibilidades de contar uma história com marionetas
- como o espaço do teatro pode ser usado e como isso é essencial
- técnicas de voz
- fatores de suporte, como luz e som
The theme of the workshop is to help explore and teach participants the possibilities of the puppet as a strong theatrical medium.Furthermore there will be a strong emphasis on the role of the puppeteer as a performing actor himself. The puppeteer does not disappear behind the puppets. His presence on stage is an integral part in the performance.
The participants will work with a puppet and bring it to "life". Scenes will then be developed with the puppet to create short dramatical studies and situations. The participants will not only interact with the puppet but also with the other participants in creating the scenes. The input of the participants plays a big role.
The workshop will start with students alternately working with a puppet without text. Attention will be given to:
- how the manipulations of the puppet affects the audience.
- how the roles of puppet and puppeteer are interchangeable (who serves who?)
- differences between the "body language" of the puppet and that of the puppeteer
Individual students as well as small groups will practice this in front of the other participants. Special attention may be given to:
- possibilities to tell a story with puppets
- how the theatre space can be used and how essential this is
- voice techniques
- supporting factors, such as light and sound

Em 1978, Neville Tranter veio com oseu Stuffed Puppet Theatre ao Festival of Fools (teatro de rua) em Amsterdam e nunca mais saiu.
Ele desenvolveu seu estilo típico de teatro visual com marionetas de tamanho humano. Neville Tranter é a única pessoa no palco. Neville Tranter é o fundador, a força artística e o único fator constante em todos esses anos do Stuffed Puppet Theatre. Ele é Stuffed Puppet Theatre.

In 1978, Neville Tranter came with his Stuffed Puppet Theatre to the Festival of Fools (street theatre) in Amsterdam and never left.
He developed his typical style of visual theatre with human size puppets. Neville Tranter is the only person on stage. Neville Tranter is the founder, the artistic force and the only constant factor in all those years of Stuffed Puppet Theatre. He is Stuffed Puppet Theatre.
In his own brutal, ruthless but poetic way, he confronts often controversial subjects (such as the human side of Adolf Hitler; the choice between being a victim or fight back; how can an artist remain free and still remain friends with the rich and powerful).
