Some say that somewhere among mountains forgotten by time lives an old hermit endowed with mysterious powers. Known for his solitude and bad temper, one day he loses his patience when heavy rain turns into a storm. Enraged, he unleashes a series of events that stop the rain, changing everyone's lives!

Reality is reduced to the small, to the symbolism of the object, so that we can understand the metaphors and languages that appeal to our sensibilities, encouraging us to take a new look at our surroundings. Between the puppet and the actor, between the body and the object, this creation presents us with a dimension that leads us to try to look at the world around us, society, nature, and how it should be protected by all of us.

In an enchanting scenic device, we see puppets and objects parading by, clouds floating in the air to the whim of our desires and our thoughts, because in the art of puppetry, nothing is impossible.

Krisálida's name mirrors her profound condition. It has the name it deserves because it turns ideas into shows, because it ventures without thinking and because it develops creatively like the larva in its chrysalis until it becomes a butterfly. She is still young and in the larva stage, but she wants to grow up and become a butterfly, because Caminha is her home, but the world is her stage!

Krisálida - Associação Cultural do Alto Minho was founded in October 2014 as a professional theater company to contribute to the cultural dynamism of the region where it is based. Its aim is to promote artistic, theatrical and musical activities, in Portugal and abroad, through creation, production, hosting, circulation, exhibition, training, recording, publishing and other means, in the other scenic and performing arts.

As a professional theater company based in Caminha, Viana do Castelo, Krisálida aims to attract audiences through a strategy based on a close relationship with local communities, seeking to decentralize and democratize access to theater for all. With this in mind, Krisálida creates theater shows that can reach unconventional spaces and be presented in the most diverse places, with aesthetic and artistic quality and that talk about subjects that seem important and pertinent to us and that move us as citizens and artists.

The company also creates pedagogical shows for schools in the district, runs theater workshops for children, young people and adults and promotes a regular puppet show, MALUGA - Festa da Marioneta Luso Galaica. It also hosts national and international theater companies in order to showcase the artistic work of its peers.
