- To maximise the time spent on stage work, participants are provided with a pre-assembled ‘kit’ (puppet and crossbar).
The workshop begins with the threading of the strings, the moment when the puppet gains its axis, gravity and life.
The focus will be on precision manipulation exercises, working on suspension, weight and the intention behind the movement.
The workshop culminates in a public performance, where participants test the autonomy of their puppets and the dialogue established with the audience, transforming technical learning into an act of collective creation. - introduction to the handling of string puppets

Who is manipulating whom?
More than just technical training, this workshop offers an immersion in the symbiotic relationship between the artist’s body and that of the object. It explores the string puppet as an extension of the performer.
Companya Jordi Bertran
In 1977 Jordi Bertran joined the “Grupo Taller de Marionetas” directed by Pepe Otal and discovered the mesmerizing power and the communication capacity of the marionettes and puppets.
Later he formed part of two groups: “Col·lectiu d’Animació de Barcelona” (1978), directed by Carles Cañellas, and “La Companyia Ambulant els Farsants” (1979-1987), which he co-founded.
In 1987 he founded his own company with the intention of spreading the art of puppeteering with the objective of especially reaching an adult audience.
